How a paper reaches PeptideCrux.
The index is maintained by a small team of researchers with no commercial ties to peptide manufacturers or compounding pharmacies. Nothing is summarised before it is graded, and every correction is versioned in public.

Retrieve
Automated queries run every 24 hours against PubMed, Europe PMC and ClinicalTrials.gov, plus manual sweeps of reference lists.
Screen
Duplicates are collapsed, retractions and expressions of concern are checked, and vendor-authored or non-indexed material is excluded.
Grade
Every study is tiered by design and model organism, then annotated with sample size, endpoints and stated limitations.
Publish
Plain-language summaries are written last and always sit beneath the citation they describe, with corrections versioned in public.
Evidence tiers
- Approved drug
- Regulator-reviewed dossier and label.
- Human RCT
- Randomised, controlled human trial.
- Human trials (limited)
- Small or open-label human data.
- Observational
- Cohort, case series or registry.
- Animal / in-vitro only
- No human evidence indexed.
Tiers describe the strength of the study design only. They are not a safety rating, an endorsement, or a recommendation to use any compound.
